Ed Ward has been writing about music for over 40 years for countless publications including the The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Austin Chronicle to America’s first rock magazine Crawdaddy! A former editor for Rolling Stone he is also co-author of Rock of Ages: The Rolling Stone History of Rock & Roll. Ed is well- known to many radio listeners as the ” Rock Historian” for NPR’s Fresh Air, a commentator on the show since its inception. Based in Berlin for many years where he continued his wide-ranging career as a writer and editor, Ed was on-air for Jazz Radio Berlin, broadcasting Blue Monday, one of the most popular radio shows in the city. Milagro Vargas
Mezzo-soprano Milagro Vargas has had a distinguished career in opera, orchestral, concert, chamber music and recital settings. A former soloist with the Stuttgart Opera, she also has many recordings to her credit including the premiere of Akhnaten by Phillip Glass and the Grammy-winning Credo by Krzysztof Penderecki. Her orchestral appearances include performances with Philadelphia Orchestra, Houston Symphony, Staatochester Stuttgart and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
