Gavin Dixon lives in London. He is a writer, journalist and editor specializing in classical music. He writes for publications such as Gramophone, Classical Music and BBC Music Magazine. He also regularly writes program notes for concerts and CD sleeve notes. Gavin has a PhD on the symphonies of Alfred Schnittke and is a member of the editorial team for the ‘Alfred Schnittke Collected Works’ edition, which recently began publication in St Petersburg. Gavin will write about music and on occasion will report news. He will also be heard in WPR broadcasts from Europe.
Gavin’s first piece for WPR is about the Northern Lights Festival . The event showcases a range of performing arts from Norway and beyond, but with a focus on classical music. Gavin has submitted the multi-media review and it is currently in edit.
